It was an expected quiet start to the month of March after the traditional post Christmas slow down, but it has been definitely getting busier as we start to move into the colder weather. A few events like the Buskers, the Moss Vale show and others also gave us a sales boost.

Sales for the month ended up at $9,266.95 which was a 28% increase over February and 1,026 items were sold at an average of $9 per product sold which is a little down – but probably because of the increased volume of bundled items that have been selling.

We have also now been open for 9 months, 26 days (or 299 days) and total sales to date are $109,763.80 and 9,734 items sold. Excitingly we will sell our 10,000’th item sometime this month in April and are still on track to get to our new goal of $120,000 in sales in our first year. All very positive. I’ll have to try and keep an eye on it so I can tell what item 10,000 is and who the seller was.

In terms of our community – there are now over 215 makers with products in the store today so its feeling very full with such a lot of variety from very talented creators and we have finally had to start being much more selective on what is being brought in – not in terms of quality or price – just in terms of it needs to be quite different to what is already in here.

As for what’s coming up next – in April we will start doing some more marketing and do a brochure drop to the whole of Moss Vale, May will be Bowral, June to Mittagong, then all the other towns depending on how we go. The brochure has been designed, printed, and ready to go.

We will also start to do some online advertising on Facebook and will also start to build out a bit of an ecommerce site over the next few months as well – probably focus around craft supplies initially and products that we just can’t fit in the store like quilts, paintings, and photography. Eventually the goal is so that everyone can add their own items.

As always – thank you very much makers and customers alike for all your support.

Much appreciated,

Angus
